FreeZip is a small, fast and efficient Zip
utility for compression and decompression of files and
directories in Windows 95/NT4. FreeZip integrates with Windows
Explorer and uses file associations and context menus to zip or
unzip files, including long file names and subdirectories. If
you know how to use Windows Explorer, then you do not have to
learn anything new to use FreeZip. The setup is a single-click
process and there are no options or settings involved.
Double click on the FreeZip
icon above. It will ask you whether you want to save it. Save it
to an empty directory (e.g., c:\temp). Using Windows Explorer,
double click on the program you just saved. That should do it.
If you want to protect your zip files with a
password, download the encryption patch. To create
a self-extracting zip file, get the SFX patch. Spanning
multiple disks is not implemented yet, but in the meantime you
might use this superb, free file splitter from
KanastaCorp.
